AGEING
Ageing is a situation that happens quite naturally for everyone but it can be disturbing if you age prematurely. This is usually due to stress and strain and lack of good health. Ageing is a situation that happens quite naturally for everyone but it can be disturbing if you age prematurely. This is usually due to stress and strain and lack of good health.
When I was a little girl I longed to be older and always used to add on years. Until I reached 30 and then I used to take them off. My little grandchildren count every month, in other words my little grandson has been heard to say I am 10 and three quarters!
My beautiful aunty remained at 30yrs for years and then we laughed at her and said soon we will be older than you! Well! This wonderful woman is now nearly 90 and still absolutely beautiful but tragically she is becoming very crippled with arthritis. There is nothing fun about old age when you do not feel well, but who says you have to be old and ill.
The most important nutrients to support old age are the proteins and the essential fatty acids. Sadly we live in a culture where we believe that age should be medicated but this is tragic. I take care of several patients in their late 80s and 90s and they all eat well and take a few supplements. The mainstay supplements for eternal youth are CoEq10, Cod liver oil, Vitamin D Vitamin E and multi B Vitamins.
Elderly people are better off with cooked food as it is much easier to digest than cold raw food. The astonishing thing is that treating older people is really rewarding because they make startling recovery from their ailments and I am sure that this has a lot to do with the law of the survival of the fittest. Remember that they are the survivors and many people nowadays who are reaching the age of 80 to 100 are all war children. You often hear in the news that we are going to live longer but I am afraid that I do not think that this is the case. Children of today are not healthy and robust; too many of our children have been damaged and over loaded with chemicals and medication. The older we get the more we learn, we have suffered, we have lived and experienced and learned a thing or two!
Take care of your health because everything that you do that is good is an insurance policy for the future. Healthy youth will lead to healthy old age. My advice is to keep active, keep interested, surround yourself with family and friends, be involved with community activities, share your worries and ensure that you are not lonely by keeping in touch with the people you love. Stay young in your heart.
