From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ‘Arthritis (from Greek arthro-, joint + -itis, inflammation; plural: arthritides) is a form of joint disorder that involves inflammation of one or more joints. There are over 100 different forms of arthritis. The most common form, osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease), is a result of trauma to the joint, infection of the joint, or age. Other arthritis forms are rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and related autoimmune diseases. Septic arthritis is caused by joint infection.
The major complaint by individuals who have arthritis is joint pain. Pain is often a constant and may be localized to the joint affected. The pain from arthritis is due to inflammation that occurs around the joint, damage to the joint from disease, daily wear and tear of joint, muscle strains caused by forceful movements against stiff painful joints and fatigue.’
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic inflammatory disorder that principally attacks synovial joints, causing inflammation, swelling and distortion, excess synovial fluid and fibrous tissue which builds up around the joints.
Rheumatoid arthritis can also produce diffuse inflammation in the lungs, the pericardium and is seen in the sclera of the eye as a white ring, in iridology this indicates calcification of the soft tissues. Rheumatoid arthritis is regarded as an auto immune system disorder and my research indicates that it stems from Diphtheria and rheumatic fever.
To support RA it is necessary to change lifestyle, plenty of fresh air, relaxation and frequent gentle exercise and of course follow a non acidic dietary regime.

Osteoarthritis is a form of degenerative joint disease which involves mechanical abnormalities such as degradation of joints, articular cartilage and sub-chondral bones.
Symptoms include: joint pain, tenderness, stiffness, locking, and structural instability.
The cause is unknown medically and considered to be hereditary, however my research shows a clear link with osteoarthritis, tooth decay and ageing as a result of long term damage of the cowpox vaccine [smallpox], particularly associated with the coccus bacteria such as streptococcus and staphylococcus,
When bone surfaces become less well protected by cartilage as it wears down, bone may be exposed and damaged. As a result of decreased movement secondary to pain, regional muscles may atrophy and cause even more pain and decreased mobility. In serious cases rheumatoid arthritis leads to hip, knee and ankle distortion which may lead to the need for replacement surgery.

All types of arthritis are inflammatory and painful and since acid burns the bones your diet is important, eating the right foods and avoiding the wrong foods, can really help as some foods really exacerbate the pain and inflammation.
Acid should be avoided at all times, stress promotes acidity so stressful eating habits such as missing meals and eating too fast and without enjoyment can also contribute to excess acidity. Acid food should be avoided:
The most acidic grain is wheat : Gluten is not tolerated. White bread, all wheat flour particularly white flour, gravy, biscuits, bread and cakes processed foods, additives.
Sugar sweets and cakes.
The most acid meat is Pork followed by Beef
The most acidic fish is shell fish; particularly crab followed by mussels and oysters
The most acidic vegetables are; tomatoes, green/red peppers, capsicum and cauliflower,
Spices such as chilly and pepper should be avoided
The most acidic fruits are; citrus fruits- oranges, lemons, grapefruit, tangerines and mandarins, strawberries, mango and kiwi.
The most acidic alcohol is white wine, champagne and whisky.
Additives are acidic: Salt: sodium chloride salt; crisps, salted peanuts, processed foods, salted butter and cheese.
Dangerous: Aspartame. Sweeteners and chemical additives cause inflammation - diet pepsi / coke plus diabetic sugar free food, [do not swallow toothpaste as it contains chemicals including aspartame!]
Any food with ‘e’ additives
Environmental chemicals such as petro chemicals, pesticides and pharmaceutical medication all contribute to acidity.
Suggested food programme to support recovery from arthritis:
YES to Alkaline foods and alkaline eating habits include relaxing, enjoying meals, chewing food properly, conversing whilst eating instead of eating in front of television.
Grains: Oats, porridge, biscuits , Rice and rice products
Nuts: Almonds, pistachio nuts
Seeds: sesame and pumpkin
Sugar should be natural such as honey and natural fruit sugar, black strap mlasses, treacle and malt, dark chocolate.
Salt: sea salt [Sel de Mer,] Rock salt, potassium salt
Essential fatty acids/oils; Olive oil, unsalted butter, yoghurt and dairy products, egg yolk
Tahini butter[ sesame seeds] nuts and nut oils.
Vegetables: All except cauliflower and Solancea vegetables such as potatoes, peppers, marrow, courgettes, capsicum and tomatoes should be cooked.
Green leafy vegetables; cabbage, Brussels sprouts,
Peas and green beans. Cook vegetables at night [Salad should not be eaten at night]
Meat; Game, lamb, venison,
Fowl: poultry, duck, chicken, turkey, pheasant, partridge etc
Sea Fish: all white fish such plaice, monkfish, sea bass, Dover sole, tuna
River fish: salmon, trout
Dairy: full cream milk, yogurt, butter, cheese.
Fruit: fruit should be ripe; red apples, pears, melons, peaches , nectarines, raspberries, black grapes, plums, cherries, blueberries, black currents, tropical fruit except mango. All black fruits and berries.
Drinks ; still water, fresh fruit juice, organic apple juice, cranberry, pomegranate, bilberry
Hot Drinks: Tea; Earl Grey tea, green tea, fresh mint, ginger root tea, jasmine and china tea
Spices: Saffron, turmeric, nutmeg, vanilla
Medical Treatment generally involves medication such as analgesics, steroids and NSAID’s followed by replacement surgery.
However diet and lifestyle and correct supplementation should and must play an important role in preventing and also supporting osteoarthritis.
Regular gentle exercise is invaluable as well as following the non-acidic dietary advice.
